Regional and State Employment and Unemployment October-December 2011

This section provides comparison data year over year as well as employees on nonfarm payrolls by state and selected industry sector.  Sectors included are as follows:  trade transportation and utilities, financial activities, professional and business services, education and health services, leisure and hospitality, construction, manufacturing and mining.  With regards to leisure and hospitality, there were more than 216.000 employed in South Carolina during December 2011 as compared to more than 215,00 during December 2010.
