Regional and State Employment and Unemployment January-March 2011

 This section provides comparison data year over year as well as employees on nonfarm payrolls by state and selected industry sector.  Sectors included are as follows:  trade transportation and utilities, financial activities, professional and business services, education and health services, leisure and hospitality, construction, manufacturing and mining.  With regards to leisure and hospitality, there were 213,000 employed in the industry in March 2011 as compared to 205,000 in March 2010.
